How is Expert Nutrition different than any other store?

  • Access to Vital Nutritional Supplements: Those living with chronic illness may have to take many different types of nutritional supplements as well as larger amounts of them. This cost can be a significant financial burden to those already spending lots of money on their health care. Expert Nutrition makes these quality nutritional supplements accessible to those living with chronic illness by making them available at a much lower cost. To see some of the vitamin regimens many of our clients have to take to manage or reduce their side effects, visit our side effects page. www.ExpertNutrition.org
  • Nutritional Supplements: EN is a conduit through which many living with chronic illness (like HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, diabetes, and some forms of cancer) can receive nutritional supplements for free. (Based on availability from manufacturers.)
  • Dietitian Services: Registered dietitian (R.D.) services are available. The consults are conducted by our contracted R.D. and always involves a B.I.A (bio-electric-impedance-analysis) test. This test is used by all of the top HIV physicians in Houston and by many others around the country to measure important health markers.
  • Physician Support: Many local physicians and AIDS service providers refer their patients to Expert Nutrition to introduce unfamiliar nutritional supplement regimens that are doctor recommended. Physicians treating chronic illnesses like hepatitis C and HIV rely on EN’s experience to help their patient integrate these new pills or powders into lifestyle and eating habits.
  • Peer Education: Many who are newly diagnosed with illness are referred to Expert Nutrition for guidance in treatment options. Clients are given treatment information that can be reviewed by the treating physician. In addition, the client is educated about the importance of certain laboratory blood labs to request from the treating physician that might not be ordered unless requested by the patient.
  • Side Effects Guide: Expert Nutriton has produced a tool that physicians and patients together can use to reduce and eliminate common side effects caused by disease or medications.
